specscout — Lennox XC21 service manual loaded

I'm getting a 292 fault code on a Lennox XC21. What is it and how do I fix it?

Fault code 292 on the Lennox XC21 indicates a compressor discharge temperature sensor failure.

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check wiring between sensor and control board
  2. Measure sensor resistance — should be 10kΩ at 77°F
  3. If out of range, replace sensor (part #10M19)

[Manual pg. 84] [Manual pg. 112]

Where's the discharge temp sensor located on this unit?

On the XC21, the discharge temperature sensor is located on the compressor discharge line, approximately 6 inches from the compressor body. It's a two-wire thermistor clamped to the copper line with a cable tie.
